Pet Building Tour

Last week I toured the renovation of the old Pet Building (architect:
A.L. Aydelott) which has been converted to “luxury” apartments. The exterior was left to it’s original Brutalist shell.

The interior, which used to be open offices, was transformed into 2 bedroom apartments. While each apartment has beautiful views through the floor to ceiling windows the renovation seemed to forget that it was in such a significant building. The interior finishes were as nice as you might find in any downtown loft but it lacked any personality. I think there could’ve been more consideration there. On the plus side, the building was successfully saved from demolition and placed on the historic registry.
