cellar door

“This famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that Cellar Door is the most beautiful.”

Karen Pommeroy AKA Drew Barrymore from Donnie Darko

Finally, I completed the door for my wine cellar. The front is Pine while the back is mixture of scrap wood I had laying around in the garage. I used an oil-based stain, Minwax dark walnut, to finish it. I bought the speakeasy grill from King Architectural Metals. At first, I shopped around locally but I only received one quote. It would cost about $150 to fabricate the grill. The same guy directed me to King Architectural Metals where I picked up this grill for $22. I’ll be looking this weekend for an iron door ring pull that matches the grill.

Next, I’m going to relocate the water line next to the door and start finishing off the corner of the basement.
