Ruth Park Shelter

Yesterday, a few of us at the office decided to cut out a little early and get in a round of golf.  I came across this shelter around the 5th hole.  It’s an interesting little structure although I’m not sure of its purpose other than a refuge on a rainy day.  It appears to be pressure treated wood that has been stained.  I’m not sure how old the shelter is but the lumber is in good shape.

Does anyone know the story behind this shelter?  See more photos after the jump.
